UFC 246 Preview – Conor McGregor Returns to take on a Future Hall Of Famer

UFC 246 Weigh-In McGregor vs. Cerrone

Conor McGregor is finally back in the MMA Landscape as he decided to return to the UFC and Face an MMA Legend in DonaldCowboyCerrone. There are some underrated fights taking place on the undercard. However, the first UFC Card of the Decade is rather top heavy, with the Main Event being far and away the most intriguing fight.

Welterweight: Conor McGregor (-325) Vs. Donald Cerrone (+250)

Donald Cerrone continues to be the ever active badass that we’ve always known him to be. Cerrone fought four  times in 2019, going 2-2 in his bouts. He was able to defeat the young and hungry Alexander Hernandez by TKO in January and then outclassed Long Island legend Al Iaquinta by unanimous decision soon after.

A few weeks after, Cerrone then took on Tony Ferguson and put on an incredible performance until the bout was stopped by the Doctor. Then, Cerrone took on the most action packed fighter in the Lightweight division in Justin Gaethje and unfortunately failed to withstand his heavy hands.

Now, Cerrone faces another hard hitting natural Lightweight in Conor McGregor who looks and sounds better than he ever has. Conor Hasn’t fought since he was defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov in his bid to reclaim the UFC Lightweight throne. The main storyline within this fight is, who does Fighting at Welterweight benefit more?

We Know that Donald Cerrone has had some real battles at Welterweight and came out on top in quite a few of them. While Conor has only fought at Welterweight in the UFC on two occasions both against Nate Diaz, I believe personally that the lack of a weight cut will benefit both men. If this fight was contested at Lightweight, I wouldn’t have a hard time picking Conor to win. At Welterweight, I’m still picking Conor to win, but I think that the lack of a weight cut will make it ever harder for Conor to get a finish.
