Red Sox Yankees Set To Play Friday In The ALDS

Lets do this.

For the first time since 2004, the Red Sox and Yankees are coming to blows in the playoffs.  I could not be anymore excited for this series. This is a chance for the Red Sox to bounce the Yankees out of the playoffs and finally shut all of the Yankees fans up for good.

I mean they started a “we want boston” chant. So game on.

Which I can respect because they are riding the high of winning a play in game to get into the division round. But to be that cocky in the middle of the game is the most Yankees fan thing to do. You guys want Boston? You are getting them. The best team in baseball this Friday night.

The rivalry was brought back to life when Joe Kelly hit Tyler Austin with a pitch a few months ago and this is just the tip of the iceberg. If the outcome does go the Red Sox way then all of the Red Sox fans will hold it over every Yankees fans head until next season and vice versa. Living in New York State means that all of my friends are Yankees fans and you can bet your monthly income that if the Yankees bounce the Red Sox, I’ll be hearing about it all winter long. Everyone on the losing side of this series will be hearing it all off-season and I can’t wait.

So bring on this series because playoff baseball can’t get much better then this. You got two teams who won 108 and 100 games respectively facing off in the ALDS and both teams are full of stars. You got Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, Chris Sale, David Price, Craig Kimbrel, Andrew Benintendi and Xander Bogaerts on the Red Sox side of things. For the Yankees you have Aaron Judge, Stanton, Severino, Chapman, Zach Britton and Gary Sanchez.

Big difference with this series is that the Red Sox get the first two games at home. That’s especially important when David Price is pitching game two Saturday night in Fenway. There will be no dinky home runs to the “short porch” off of Price in that game.

This is going to be one wild series and I hope everyone is ready for it. Cause I sure am. And if you’re some how not hyped for it go watch Four Days in October
